Apologies :- Peter Rhodes, Reg Robinson, Jon Daldry, Sara Shackleton,
Pass as a true Record Minutes of February 2016 :- Proposed Craig Hine, Seconded John Powell;
Matters arising :- The Minutes of the Feb Meeting were presented there were no Matters arising for discussion or actioning.
Sponsorship :- Ian confirmed he was working on our Sponsors at the present time. Indications are that they will all be with us again next season. The Chairman asked that if anyone knew of other possibilities in their Clubs could they please “twist arms”. Thanks were offered to Ian for all his work.
Finance :- Greg presented the Financial statement and once again the books were in a healthy position and it was agreed immediately that there would be no need to increase Membership fees again for the upcoming season.
The Benevolent Fund was also healthy even though two payments had been made over the past season one in fact £1,000 due to a serious eye injury. The Finals and Dinner had been productive in adding to the Fund and a further matching payment is due from Barclays.
Thanks were offered to Greg for the way he was administering our Finance.
Finals Report :- The Finals Day once again produced some terrific games tightly fought and with a lot of enthusiasm. The Finals Day is proving to be a highlight in our Leagues’ calendar.
Both venues proved to be ideal and we must thank all at each venue for their full support on the day. The players and our Referees were looked after royally by our two hosts and once again it was clear it was indeed a player’s day. Just as we want and might expect.
A special thanks were offered to Ian and Greg for their work at Rossendale. The Rochdale Club had also put on a tremendous day. Thank you all.
Dinner Report :- 250 lads enjoyed our Annual Presentation Dinner. A terrific night was held enjoyed by reps from our Sponsors, the Counties and our Referee Societies. The Leagues are certainly proving that lads are enjoying them especially when their sides are successful.
Thank you to the Bowdon Club for putting on a fine meal and making sure arrangements were in order for the night.
A special thanks to Reg Robinson and Ian Cosens for all their work in the background to set up the night.
Applications to join us :- Paul had a list of sides either wanting to return to us or in fact new sides intending joining us. A decision had been made to include a limited number of Cumbria sides. After a Meeting with Cumbrian Representatives a number would be allowed to set things up with one side per League. We realise there are issues with Cumbrian representation and it would be necessary to discuss with Reps from both Lancs. and Cumbria during the upcoming season. The Chairman and Fixture Secretary would set up arrangements to progress.
Rule Changes :- A number of changes had been received from The Chairman and Fixtures Secretary which in the main were technical changes to be made after our recent organisational changes.
Proposals from our Clubs were discussed. Whilst in the past we would enter the AGM with a united front there were differences of opinion with the Clubs proposals and it was felt a free vote should be given to Committee in the AGM meeting.
Any other Business :- No other business was raised for discussion.
The Meeting closed at 7.45p.m.
Minutes :- Paul Whiston
