The young guns of Sandbach 2s need to play better against older, slower & more experienced opposition. Full credit to Leigh Vets as they gave us a lesson in 'keep it simple' rugby. Quick ball was essential to release our speedy backline but Birdy will tell you about the lack of clean ball he received.
All three tries were taken well by the lads: The first being scored by Birdy. He was on the end of a hospital pass but still managed to power his way over from 10 metres. Great work from the little man.
The second try came from Mike Huss where he managed to 'gas' his opposite man and run 50m to score. Well done mike its great to have you back BUT its safe to say the pace has gone pal. What’s happened? You and boggy used to be 'rapid' at U16s ROFL :D
Sandbachs third try of the game was my personal favourite. Faulkner cleverly chipped the ball over the oncoming Leigh defence, the Leigh full pack gathered the bouncing bomb only to be 'smashed' by Faulkner. Jack Escourt picked up the spilled ball to run in the try. Chris G kicked all three cons.
Tries: Bird, Huss & Escourt
Cons: Greenhalgh x 3
Pratt of the day goes to Mark Bird for calling the female ref 'Sir' several times. Nice.
