Ben Ainsworth, Ashton-on-Mersey
Ben Ainsworth who was taken to hospital during the Final between Burnley and Ashton-on-Mersey with a suspected head injury was released from hospital yesterday evening. He was able to join his teammates in their celebrations. I believe he stayed off the alcohol as a precaution. We all wish him a speedy recovery.
However all who were there are extremely grateful to the Birkenhead Park Committee, especially Barry Fitzgerald, for ensuring prompt attention to Ben and the swift call of the ambulance.
