After reading the positive remarks with “getting games played” on the Miller Homes website, I’d just like to add a thank you and well done to our own and the St Marys OB 2nd teams.
Newton’s 1st team were playing away to St Edwards OB in a North Lancs 2 game and were short of players, our 2nd team gave up two of their team so we could travel with a bare 15. This however left our 2nd team to travel with only 11 players. To St Marys OB credit, they loaned 4 players to our 2nds and ended up with a good game of rugby that does the game proud, our chairman Ken Boughey who runs out with the 2nds as often as he can commented on the spirit and manner in which the game was played and, was impressed by the intensity of the St Marys players that played for Newton. All in all, a good afternoon of rugby which, is what it’s all about.
