The League Secretary found out on Friday lunchtime that Anselmians 2 had conceded their Cup match at Penrith.
Spotting that there was an opportunity to play a postponed game I contacted Geoff Matthews, Fixture Secretary at Penrith and asked him if he would be willing to keep his team on standby on the chance I could get them a re-arranged game. He agreed and I contacted Graham Rannon at Furness. He said he would try and get a team together and the two Fixture Secretaries would liaise and try and get a game on.
Thanks to the co-operation of these two gentlemen an extra game was played on Saturday, a great effort by these two Clubs to help with the large backlog of postponed games.
It was a close result too, in Div 4(N), Furness 2 22 - 27 Penrith 3
Well done to both teams.
